Operating the hands-free liftgate is so simple, you'll already have it mastered the first time you do it.
To open the tailgate, you must have your car key close by, preferably in your pocket or handbag. When you're ready to open the tailgate using this system, simply put your foot straight out and under the rear bumper using a gentle kicking motion. Once you do that, be sure to take a step back so you can avoid the tailgate's path. Once the tailgate is fully open, you'll hear a signal to indicate it is safe to put your cargo in the back.
To close the tailgate, use the same motion to put your foot back under the bumper, this time under the left-hand side. The tailgate will emit another signal to let you know that it is fully closed.
