The 2022 Volvo XC60 has some exciting updates to show off at Sandberg Volvo Cars. The XC60 is available in three trims—Momentum, Inscription, and R-Design—as a Recharge or Mild Hybrid EV model with shared comfort, safety, and technology components to fit Washington driver's lifestyles.

XC60 Recharge Powertrain

The Volvo XC60 Recharge is equipped with an upgraded three-layer pack battery with 18.7 kWh of capacity (of which 14.8 kWh is usable), 7 kWh more than the previous model. The electric motor controlling the rear axle puts out as much as 142-horsepower with a turbocharged and supercharged I4 and PHEV system jumping from 400- to-455-horsepower and 472- to 523 pound-feet of torque. The gas engine isn't exactly more powerful, but it's restyled with a new power curve that produces extra thrust at lower speeds.

XC60 MHEV Powertrain

A mild hybrid is a mild plug-in hybrid that utilizes a combustion engine with an electric motor to reduce emissions and provide a higher fuel economy. Regenerative braking stores power in the 48-volt battery, which gives the car an extra boost when started and accelerating off the line. An electric vehicle exclusive: one-pedal driving with regenerative braking offers a larger battery that creates extra power and a longer distance drive range.

Mild hybrids produce 247- to 295-horsepower with the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) on the B5 and B6 engines. You'll notice improved performance, extra horsepower, and torque boost created by the ISG. The B6 powertrains replace the previous supercharger with the e-Charger allowing for exceptional sound and additional enrichments in the engine's response, compared to recharge models that have shift-by-wire technology.

For luxury car drivers who want an incredibly efficient and reliable drive for daily work commutes and driving locally regularly, the XC60 MHEV is an excellent option.

XC60 Design

The XC60 Recharge and MHEV models share similar exterior and interior cabin design refinements providing the perfect balance of high-performance, utility, and economy. The front and rear fascia is updated, featuring new wheel and grill designs and exterior paint colors.

Technology

Both models also feature the new Android-based infotainment system, equipped with Google Assistant with Natural Voice Recognition, Google Maps, and a complimentary four-year subscription to Google Play. The intuitive next-generation XC60 entertainment system is more personalized with incomparable connectivity integration.
